Hello.
I'm Daia, a graphic designer, web developer and a mom. I was born in 1978 and grew up in a small village in the northern part of Iceland.

I studied design at the Iceland Academy of the Arts and graduated with a Bachelors degree in graphic design in 2003. I've had a special interest in interaction design and webdesign since I first got online in 1997. I've worked for software companies and advertising agencies and been teaching a course in webdesign at the Iceland Academy of the Arts. From 2003 to 2006 I worked for an advertising agency in the downtown of Reykjavik, Iceland, on both print and web media designs.

In late 2006 I moved with my family to Denmark, where I am studying Multimedia Design and Communication, my fiance is in a masters program of Computer Science and our three year old son is quite happy playing with danish kids.

I am inspired by colors, patterns, shapes, contrasts, bookstores, architecture, fine pens, paper, grids, books, magazines, my macbookpro, blogs, food, cooking, scrapbooking, photography, technology, landscape, the rain, my son, walking, swimming, cycling, album covers, music like Figurines, Belle and Sebastian, Bang Gang, Lay Low, Björk, Sufjan Stevens, Emiliana Torrini, Damien Rice, Kasabian, Petur Ben, Toggi, Radiohead and SigurRós.

I am available for interesting projects, my CV is available upon request

Daia is a graphic designer with abnormal interest in programming, interactivity and the web culture.
Born in Iceland in 1978 she's been doing html since last century and tons of layout experiments resulting in not enough spare time and a neglected three year old. more >
